A temporary sculpture, designed by the 2011 Artists Row Scholarship winner, Sara Mays, will be constructed by community members and artists at the entrance of the Old Richmond Academy. This unique public art creation, "ARTie-The Garden City's Green Dragon", is being assembled with various recycled materials collected from the community. Art Experience is an exciting hands-on project that provides an opportunity to learn about the basic principles of art, recycling, and expand the community's awareness of the beauty and possibility in found objects. Simultaneously, a smaller, permanent sculpture will be made by children and artists. This piece will be auctioned during the Thursday, October 6th Art Bar at the Old Richmond Academy. Proceeds will support the Artist’s Row Student Scholarship and Community Outreach Fund. Bring your family and friends to help create ARTie.
