Oscar-winning screenwriter Horton Foote (To Kill a Mockingbird, Tender Mercies) is often compared to Anton Chekhov. Gerald Wood, director of the Horton Foote Society at Carson-Newman College will hold a symposium on the writer and his work as well as displaying an exhibition of manuscripts, letters and other objects of interest from the Foote’s life.
