Oscar-winning screenwriter Horton Foote (To Kill a Mockingbird, Tender Mercies) is often compared to Anton Chekhov. Gerald Wood, director of the Horton Foote Society at Carson-Newman College will hold a symposium on the writer and his work as well as displaying an exhibition of manuscripts, letters and other objects of interest from the Foote’s life.

An amalgamation of many forms, Waltzed is a metaphoric performance featuring aspects of music, dance, spoken word, visual art and fashion. The performance will coincide with an exhibition of thematically linked work by Augusta artist Nancy Wellington Bookhart.
